Welcome to Fat is the Flavor! This site will embody everything that I think is important about food – its taste, and its nourishment to the body and mind.
I believe that a lot of the food we eat today is simply empty calories, and that we should focus on eating food full of nutrients. Instead of looking for foods with the fewest calories, we should eat food that will nourish us, and keep us full and fueled for the day.
Some background on me…In early 2015 I embarked on a ketogenic diet journey with a friend in order to lose weight and gain muscle. Through that, I discovered that my body performed much better when I cut out most carbs. Having been a major sugar addict my whole life, the diet was very eye-opening and drastically changed the way that I look at food and nutrition.
Although I don’t follow a strict ketogenic diet anymore, I do try to lower my carb intake and especially my sugar intake whenever I can. I hope that this blog will keep me inspired to “healthify” my favorite high carb/sugar foods, and inspire others to try new foods.
