It’s officially summer break! Summer is my absolute favorite time of the year, I’m all about sunshine, driving with the windows down, tank-tops, walking everywhere barefoot, and garden-fresh food. Get ready for some fresh, delicious meals this season!…
Guys, it’s finally May! Even though it feels like it should be summer already, it has been surprisingly cold and rainy in north Texas lately. During these last few cool, drizzly weeks of the spring semester, I feel like it’s necessary to have something warm and soothing to sip on while I
pull my hair out study.
Let’s be honest, there is absolutely nothing fancy or cool about a casserole. Just that word makes me think of something old fashioned that my mom would make. That being said, I do make and enjoy casseroles pretty often.
I think it’s safe to say that I wouldn’t be alive without coffee. Coffee has this warming, awakening power that I just can’t live without. Normally I just drink BulletProof coffee, or add a little heavy cream and a pinch of sweetener to black coffee, but sometimes I need just a little bit more to keep me awake. I started playing around with the delicious sugary drinks I used to get at coffee shops and ended up with much healthier, fulfilling versions of my favorites.
As Spring Break comes to a close, I realize that I only put a dent in my spring to-do list. I spent a lot of hours on the blog, a lot of hours trying and developing new recipes, a lot of hours taking and editing photographs, and a lot of hours at my real job. There just wasn’t enough time in the week. I do feel as though I have a better understanding of what all goes in to a single post, and I feel much better prepared for future posts.
Because I feel that writing down goals and revisiting them often is the best way to accomplish them, I would like to take a minute to make some goals for the blog.
- I think that one post every other week is a reasonable goal. Between work and school, I should definitely be able to find time to post.
- I would like every recipe to be less than 8 grams of net carbs per serving.
- I would like to have a range off different types of recipes, which is hard, as I have an obsession for making desserts.
- I would love to make a weeks worth of recipes with a grocery list to make eating low carb easier and convenient.
I hope to get a good blogging schedule going soon and really get Fat is the Flavor going by the summer. Can’t wait to see where we are by the start of next semester!
